Botswana Northern Highlights
10 days/9 nights
Days 1-3
Moremi Game Reserve
Fly by light aircraft to Xakanaxa airstrip where you will meet your guide and travel on to your comfortable camp for the next 3 nights. Discover wide open floodplains, lagoons and mopane woodland on morning and afternoon game drives. Search for lion, elephant, buffalo and the endemic red lechwe antelope. Moremi is one of the best game reserves in Africa for viewing the endangered African wild dog.
Days 4-6
Mababe Private Reserve
Take one last slow game drive through the Moremi Game Reserve on your way to the Mababe Concession. The Khwai River flows through the concession, offering plenty of riverside routes to explore. The Mababe Concession allows for walking safaris, night drives and has a strict maximum of just 20 vehicles. Exploring after dark, you may see rarely encountered species such as African wild cat or genet. B L D
Days 7-9
Central Chobe
Journey through lion and cheetah country en route to Chobe National Park stopping at the Mababe Depression, an ancient dried-up lake bed whose nutritious grasses make it a birder’s paradise. Explore the varying habitats and wildlife of the surrounding hills and the infamous Savute Channel and Marsh, both popular staging grounds for many dramatic African wildlife documentaries.
Day 10
Tour ends Kasane
Depart early for Kasane. Enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River. Tour ends Kasane.
