Camp Xakanaxa has a privileged location with access to both land and water safari experiences.
Pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka, Camp Xakanaxa is situated one the banks of the Khwai River and the Xakanaxa Lagoon in the famous Moremi Game Reserve. Set within a signature landscape of islands, grasslands and floodplains, this relaxed camp offers both a land and water safari experience year-round.
Guests are accommodated in 11 spacious Meru-style luxurious tents containing en suite bathrooms and private verandas furnished with comfortable chairs. There is also one two-bedroom family tent, with separate ensuite showers, hand basins and toilet facilities. Every tent looks out over the lagoon and the private deck is fitted with comfortable lounges. Shared spaces include a library, lounge and dining room all shaded under thatch. There is also a fire-pit, sundeck and two swimming pools where you can while away the hours in between game viewing activities.
Things to do at Camp Xakanaxa include game drives in open vehicles and power boating all year round. Species often observed around this property include elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hyena, lion and leopard as well as a large variety of antelope. Birding is also spectacular, particularly in the warmer months when migrant species come to the Delta to breed. All outings are accompanied by licensed guides.
