Khwai Leadwood

An intimate lodge in a private concession, Khwai Leadwood offers sensational wildlife experiences

Located in a private concession, just off the banks of the Khwai River, Khwai Leadwood boasts an enviable position in one of the Okavango Delta’s most renowned wildlife areas. The main lodge area is open, featuring a lounge and dining area with rolled up canvas walls that allow views out over the magical floodplains and river beyond.

There is also a beautiful swimming pool, ample outdoor decking, and a gorgeous circular fire pit where guests can relax during the day or enjoy an after-dinner nightcap. A small jetty extends directly into the river so guests can enjoy morning and afternoon boat excursions. Guests can also enjoy the outdoor Boma dining area or explore the gift shop during time at camp that houses plenty of safari gear and little gift ideas for family or friends back home.

There are just seven elegantly designed suites (including one Family Suite) that incorporate a perfect mix of modern elements such as ceiling fans and charging facilities, and beautiful woven baskets and beaded décor that create an authentic contemporary African style. Each suite has a splendid en suite bathroom as well as a glorious private outdoor deck with views over the floodplain.

Khwai Leadwood offers a wide variety of activities for guests of all ages – including the Ngwana Club for children. Activities for kids may include walks around the camp, colouring books, cooking classes, arts, crafts, and storytelling. Morning and afternoon game drives are a staple, whilst walking safaris and mokoro excursions (water levels permitting) are also possible. A wide variety of wildlife call this area home including lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe. In addition, guests can also head off on night drives offering the chance to see some of Africa’s nocturnal and more elusive animals.
