Governors’ Private Camp

On a riverbank in Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve, Governors’ Private Camp is yours to enjoy in its entirety as it is only available for exclusive use.

Set on a quiet riverbank in the Masai Mara Game Reserve, Governors’ Private Camp is yours to enjoy in its entirety as it is only available for exclusive use. There are 8 spacious safari tents accommodating 16 guests in total, each containing its own bathroom and private veranda. Guests here also enjoy the undivided attention of a dedicated camp manager, and the services of Governors’ very best guides and trackers.

Governors’ Private Camp is located in a forest filled with rare and exotic birds, and close to a waterhole frequented by thirsty wildlife. Activities at camp include twice daily game drives in custom-built 4WD vehicles. From July to October, guests are treated to the breathtaking sight of over one and a half million wildebeest migrating north from Tanzania, flanked by tens of thousands of zebra and gazelle.

Another popular activity is a hot air balloon safari, which provides an amazing bird’s-eye view of the plains. Guests interested in Maasai culture can opt to visit a nearby traditional Maasai community and learn about their everyday lives. It’s also possible to go farther afield: to Mfangano Island Camp – another Governors’ property – on an island in Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake.
