One&Only Nyungwe House is set on a picturesque working tea plantation at the edge of Nyungwe National Park and offers the highest standards in luxury alongside warm Rwandese hospitality. There are 22 modern, beautifully appointed rooms in total, situated in timber buildings carefully spaced for privacy. Each room comes with a fireplace, minibar and private deck for those all-important sundowner cocktails as the sun sinks below the horizon.

The lovely main area boasts a heated rim-flow swimming pool with views over the rainforest, a poolside “boma”, a day spa and a Jacuzzi. There is also a fitness centre if you wish to work out during your stay. The restaurant offers delightful meals – served indoors or al fresco – with a secluded terrace for romantic private dining.

Things to do at One&Only Nyungwe House centre around exploring the nearby national park which shares its name. Activities are tailored to individual guests, lasting between 1-7 hours depending on interests and fitness levels. Go chimpanzee trekking, and keep your eyes peeled for cheeky black-and-white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys and Golden Monkeys as well – especially whilst strolling along the scenic canopy walkway. Other things to see along the trails include waterfalls, 275 species of bird including various hornbills and resplendent Great Blue Turacos.
