Many major airlines including South African Airways, Qantas, Etihad, Emirates, Kenya Airways, Qatar, Singapore Airways and British Airways fly into Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport. There are also many regional and domestic carriers that service local cities such as Cape Town and the Kruger National Park area.
US – South African Airways fly’s directly to east coast cities including New York and Washington. Delta Airlines is another option to consider flying directly to Johannesburg from Atlanta.
UK / Europe – There are direct flights to OR Tambo International Airport with South African Airways from London-Heathrow, Frankfurt and Munich. Major European Airlines flying directly into Johannesburg include British Airways, Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss International Airlines.

Days 1-3
South Africa, Cape Town
This safari of a lifetime begins in stunning Cape Town, where you can scale Table Mountain, visit Cape Point or quaff fine wines in the picturesque Cape Winelands. Your base is The Silo, a cutting-edge design hotel with distinctive multi-faceted windows overlooking the vibrant V&A Waterfront. B (Day 2 and 3)
Days 4-18
Rail Journey, Cape Town to Dar es Salaam
Traverse an incredible 6,100km aboard a beautifully restored Victorian train. Highlights on this 14-night Rovos Rail journey including the diamond town of Kimberley, the wild Madikwe Game Reserve, the magnificent Victoria Falls and Zambia’s dramatic Muchinga Escarpment. Disembark in Dar es Salaam for overnight. BLD
Day 19
Tanzania, Arusha
Fly from the coast to Arusha, at the base of Mount Meru, where you stay at the charming Arusha Coffee Lodge, set amid lush coffee plantations. Follow the journey from bean to cup on a tour of the property, before retiring to your lavish room. B

Tanzania, Ngorongoro Crater
Drive up to the rim of the largest intact volcanic caldera on Earth, where the opulent Ngorongoro Crater Lodge awaits. Rewarding game drives across the crater floor and bush banquets can be enjoyed during your stay. BLD
Days 22-25
Tanzania, Serengeti National Park
A light aircraft whisks you from the Ngorongoro Crater to the wide, open savannas of the Serengeti. The sensational Lemala Kuria Hills lodge nestles attractively amongst boulders, and offers access to some of the most game-rich pockets of the northern Serengeti. BLD
Days 26/27
Tanzania, Dar es Salaam
Leave the plains behind, as you wing your way back to Dar, transferring on arrival to Ras Kutani, a slice of paradise just 25km south of the city. Seemingly endless white sands and sultry Indian Ocean waters are at the doorstep of this beachfront retreat, which offers spa treatments, watersports and seasonal turtle hatching. BLD
