Malaria Free Safari

9 days/8 nights

Day 1

Madikwe Game Reserve

Fly from Johannesburg straight into an airstrip within South Africa’s fourth largest game reserve. Created in 1992, this malaria-free wilderness was once overgrazed farmland and today is home to all of the ‘Big 5’ and much more. Your stunning glass-enclosed suite at intimate Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge has its own plunge pool and offers privileged access to the rich game at the heart of the reserve.

Days 2-3

Madikwe Game Reserve

Go out in the morning and evening in search of species big and small on foot and by vehicle – your knowledgeable ranger is always happy to offer tips on wildlife photography. Bird-watching is of particular note in this region, whilst a meal in the bush is not to be missed!

Day 4

Cape Town

Bid farewell to the wilderness this morning, as you board your flight to Cape Town (via Johannesburg). Your home for the next 3 nights is the superb Tintswalo Atlantic, a luxurious boutique hotel nestled at the foot of Chapman’s Peak.

Day 5

Cape Town

Explore the photogenic Malay Quarter, stroll the serene Company Gardens and – if the weather permits – ascend to the summit of Table Mountain to admire the incredible views (cableway ticket is not included).

Day 6

Cape Town

Enjoy a full day tour of the spectacular Cape Peninsula, visiting the beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens and Cape Point, where two great oceans meet. If you’re lucky, you might even see adorable African penguins at Boulders Bay.

Days 7/8

Cape Winelands

Head inland today towards the Cape Winelands, whose fertile valleys are renowned for producing excellent wines. Take in charming Cape Dutch architecture and sample local vintages as well as delightful regional cuisine. You spend two nights at the magnificent Grand Roche Hotel, an historic estate that remains part of a working wine farm.

Day 9

Tour ends Cape Town

After breakfast, return by road to Cape Town where your holiday comes to an end.
