Occupying one of the most striking landscapes in all of Tanzania, Lamai Serengeti is spread across a rocky, scrub-covered hillside in the remote northern Serengeti.
During certain months of the year, its surroundings teem with wildebeest and zebra travelling along ancient migratory routes while at other times, a diversity of resident animals remain to guard this private wilderness.
There are just 11 guest suites in all, split between two lodges to ensure everyone gets a view. All are constructed with canvas, plaster and poles so they blend almost imperceptibly into the terrain. Each wing of Lamai Serengeti has its own pool, library, dining and bar area so guests are guaranteed plenty of space and privacy.
Activities at this sensational property include game drives, guided walks, bush picnics and sundowners, with very good chances to witnessing a Mara River crossing between July and October. However, as there is plenty of permanent game in the area, wildlife-based excursions are almost guaranteed to uncover some interesting species.
