Inside every guest tent is a generously sized bed, writing desk and chair with a rustic wooden partition separating the bedroom from the ensuite bathroom, fitted with twin copper hand basins as well as indoor and outdoor showers. Wooden walkways link all guest tents to the main area, which houses a contemporary lounge and dining area, large timber deck, plunge pool and fire pit.

Things to do at Little Makalolo Camp include game drives in the early morning and late evening in search of the many, many creatures that inhabit Hwange’s unspoilt terrain, walking safaris accompanied by a knowledgeable guide and visits to a rural local village, usually touring the school. Little Makalolo also boasts a delightful log-pile hide located next to a busy waterhole, so you can spend your afternoon here watching elephants splash. Should you wish to spend an unforgettable night out in the bush, a ‘star bed’ can be set up for you on a raised platform next to a natural pan.
