Explore South Australia’s vast and varied landscape
Known as “The City of Churches”, Adelaide offers a seaside setting surrounded by plenty of leafy parkland. With a myriad of open spaces, beachside bars and restaurants, a short stay in the city is the ideal way to start or finish a South Australian getaway.
Just 70 minutes outside Adelaide are the award-winning vineyards of the Barossa Valley. Spend your days enjoying the many acclaimed vineyards or exploring the many picturesque walking and cycling trails. There are also a number of sensational golf courses, craft shops and galleries.
450 kilometres north from Adelaide rise the ancient Flinders Ranges brimming with fossils, Indigenous artefacts, native wildlife and incredible scenery. The region is also home to a number of old sheep stations, including Arkaba Homestead, a 19th century sheep station turned conservancy. For nature lovers and hikers, the conservancy also boasts one of the Great Walks of Australia – the guided, multi-day Arkaba Walk.
To the south, accessed via ferry, Kangaroo Island offers a wonderful combination of pristine national parks, quiet sandy beaches and surreal rock formations to explore.
