Bespoke Türkiye holidays tailor-made for you

African Wildlife Safaris & Natural Focus are pleased to introduce Türkiye into our outstanding line up of amazing destinations. Our experts have been exploring the country to find the best places to visit, activities to enjoy, and hotels to stay in and we are ready to share our recommendations to help you plan your perfect Turkish holiday.

As the crossroads of Europe and the Middle East, Türkiye boasts a rich tapestry of cultures and experiences and is a recent addition to our list of destinations. In Istanbul, the city’s history is vividly alive in its mosque-dotted skyline. You can explore timeless monuments such as the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace, then savour Turkish coffee in the lively Grand Bazaar. Beyond the city, the countryside offers gems like the hillside village of Şirince, where you can wander through vineyards and olive groves, sampling some of the region’s finest wines.

A visit to Greco-Roman Ephesus, one of the Mediterranean’s best-preserved classical cities, is a must. We also recommend venturing to Cappadocia in the country’s heart. Here, you’ll find an otherworldly landscape of conical rock formations and cave-dotted hills, perfect for hiking to hidden monasteries and spending the night in a rock-carved hotel.

Finish your journey on the stunning Turquoise Coast, where you can swim in warm, azure waters. Alternatively, enjoy a mix of relaxation and exploration in Bodrum’s sheltered coves and pine-clad hills, alongside the city’s ancient Greek ruins.

Istanbul is the largest city in Türkiye, straddling the Bosphorus Strait where Europe meets Asia. Discover it’s magnificent skyline dotted with thousands of minarets and mosques including the famous Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Gallipolli

The Gallipoli campaign took place from April to December 1915, aiming to seize the Dardanelles from the Turkish Ottoman Empire, an ally of Germany and Austria, and force it out of the war. The campaign resulted in 26,000 Australians and 7,571 New Zealanders wounded, with 7,594 Australians and 2,431 New Zealanders killed. Many fought from the initial landings on April 25, 1915, until the evacuation on December 20, 1915. April 25th, known as ANZAC Day, is commemorated in both countries with Dawn Parades and other services, similar to Armistice Day.

Cappadocia

Take in a bird’s-eye view of the unique rock formations that dot the honeycomb hills of this volcanic region. Marvel at the natural pillars of Monks Valley, glowing in the orange hue of sunrise, and float over rock-cut mosques, monasteries, and the lush orchards and vineyards below.

Türkiye FAQ

The best time to visit Türkiye depends on your interests. April, May, September, and October offer pleasantly warm temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C, making them ideal for exploring Türkiye’s extensive array of ancient sites.

The summer months, from June to September, are very hot, with temperatures often reaching the mid-thirties on the south coast. While this heat is perfect for relaxing by the sea or pool, it can make visiting historical sites quite uncomfortable.

Temperatures start to cool off from late October. From November to March, it can get quite cold, and many coastal hotels close during these months. However, despite the chill, winter can be the best time to explore the sites due to the reduced crowds. In Cappadocia, temperatures can drop below 0°C, but the snowy landscape is stunning.
