Days 1-4

Istanbul

Transfer from Istanbul airport to your city hotel. Over the next few days enjoy two full day tours with visits to Topkapi Palace, Spice Market, a cruise along the Bosphorus, the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque originally a Byzantine church completed in 537 CE, the Blue Mosque (from courtyard), the Hippodrome, Basilica Cistern and the Grand Bazaar. Also enjoy a walk down the Istiklal Pedestrian Street with a street food tour and a visit to Galata Tower. B Hotel 10 Karakoy or similar

Days 5-7

Cappadocia

Morning flight to Kayseri and drive to the surreal landscapes of Cappadocia, sculpted by erosion and with caves and hand-hewn churches built by early Christians. Whilst in Cappadocia enjoy a home hosted lunch and visit Devrent Valley and Goreme Open Air Museum, the Kaymakli Underground City and Pigeon Valley. These days Cappadocia is as famous for its hot air balloon experience as for its unique topography. Enjoy an early morning hot air balloon ride with a return transfer from your hotel. Days 8/9

Sagalassos

Depart for Sagalassos, stopping enroute to see the Sultanhani Caravanserai, and the Mausoleum of Mevlana, the original lodge of the Mevlevi Whirling Dervishes.  The following day visit the ancient city of Sagalassos. Dating from 1200BC this largescale site in the mountains features such wonders as the 9,000 seat Roman Theatre and the magnificent, restored fountain complex of Antonine Nymphaeum. Day 10

Pamukkale

After breakfast, transfer to Pamukkale, the location of the Greco-Roman spa city of Hierapolis and the white terraces and pools of the “Cotton Palace” (Pamukkale) created by calcite-laden mineral springs. Truly a spectacular sight. B D Hotel Doğa Thermal Health & Spa or similar

Day 11

Izmir

After breakfast transfer to the stunning ancient site of Laodicea. This ancient Hellenistic city was founded in the 3rd century BC and later came under Roman rule. Restoration is continuing across this extensive site and in 2010 a large Christian Church from the reign of Emperor Constantine was discovered. After the visit, continue to your hotel in Izmir. Day 12

Izmir

After breakfast, spend a full day visiting the famous Ephesus, one of the largest and the preserved Roman cities in the Mediterranean. You will also visit the House of Virgin Mary a religious shrine believed by many to be the last home of the Virgin Mary. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Sirince. B Key Hotel or similar

Tour ends

After breakfast check out from your hotel and transfer to Izmir Airport for your flight to Istanbul. Tour ends. B
