Perched on a soaring clifftop half an hour from historic Galle, this spectacular property offers 39 welcoming guest villas in total, with traditional terracotta roofs. Villas are spread across separate garden complexes on the sloping, lushly forested promontory, with each group enjoying access to their own infinity edge pool. Interiors are natural in hue, and beautifully appointed, with cool tiled floors, shuttered windows and large terraces.
Cape Weligama’s central, crescent-shaped Moon Pool sits at the edge of the escarpment, enjoying the best views in the house, while there is a air-conditioned gym for working off the resort’s indulgent cuisine. The resort also provides easy access to two nearby public beaches as well as a comprehensive sports centre which offers marine activities including dolphin cruises and scuba diving excursions.
Other active things to do at Cape Weligama include surfing Weligama Bay, kayaking on Koggala Lake or exploring peaceful rural villages and paddy fields surrounding the resort by bicycle.
