Designed to take advantage of shoulder season pricing, guests will stay at fabulous accommodation while experiencing the wilderness with fewer vehicles out on the plains. Annie has carefully chosen a collection of smaller, more intimate permanent tented camps and lodges located in the heart of the wildlife-rich wilderness.

Northern Tanzania is famous for its wildlife. It’s national parks are a haven for birds and animals, with the Serengeti ecosystem covering 30,000 square km and the arena for one of the largest terrestrial mammal migrations on Earth. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest, un-flooded, unbroken volcanic caldera, and hidden within it is a Garden of Eden. On this escorted journey you will traverse the Serengeti with Annie in search of its resident wildlife – all the big cats may be found here, including powerful lion prides, majestic cheetahs, and elusive leopards. We will then continue on to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and enjoy a day of game-viewing on the floor of the awe-inspiring Crater, home to over 25,000 animals. The escarpments and volcanoes of the Great Rift Valley will form a spectacular backdrop throughout our journey, and our last stop will be beautiful Tarangire National Park with its giant baobab trees and red soil landscapes.

The starting point for this safari is the city of Arusha, with a pre and post night included in the tour. From Day 2, everything is included: a light aircraft transfer to the northern Serengeti, full board accommodation, drinks, (premium brands excluded), game drives and safari experiences, park fees, laundry, and gratuities. Group size is limited to 16, with a maximum of just 4 clients in each vehicle. With the opportunity for some great wildlife viewing, this exclusive small group tour offers an unforgettable experience of Tanzania.

On Day 10 we will spend a day game viewing with a picnic lunch on the crater floor. The 20 luxurious guest suites are spaced well apart for maximum privacy. One of the important elements of any safari is where you stay, and for this safari I have chosen the Lemala Portfolio of Camps & Lodges. Their camps are small and more intimate and offer superior and stylish accommodation in some of the best locations. Mpingo Ridge in Tarangire sits on the tip of the escarpment and has undoubtedly one of the best views I have seen in Africa, while authentic Ewanjan Tented Camp is one of my favourites in the central Serengeti.  What makes these camps so special too is the staff – from the managers to waiters, chefs, housekeepers, gardeners & Askaris (night watchmen). They each perform their roles perfectly and always with a smile. That is the spirit of Lemala, and I am so looking forward to returning in November – why not join me and experience it for yourself.
