Discover the mesmerising beauty and wonder of Botswana

Experience the wonders of Botswana’s Okavango Delta and the incredible salt pans of the Kalahari on this luxurious 6-night safari. These two contrasting environments offer an astounding variety of landscapes to explore, including endless salt pans, stunning desert landscapes, floodplains, emerald forests, and an intricate network of winding waterways.

Guests can expect highly skilled guides, personalised service, and sensational cuisine while staying at some of the country’s most renowned and exclusive camps.

Starting in Maun, Botswana, this exciting itinerary combines 2 sensational camps – iconic Jack’s Camp, one of the most unique camps in Africa in the other-worldly Makgadikgadi Pans, and North Island Okavango – an intimate, yet lavish 4-suite masterpiece on the northern fringes of the Okavango Delta.

Fly by light aircraft to the Kalahari and enjoy a wealth of fascinating activities at Jack’s Camp, such as quad biking across the salt pans (seasonal), walking with the local Zu/’hoasi Bushmen and getting up close to a “mob” of habituated meerkats. During the middle of the day, relax around camp making the most of the superb facilities, including the stately billiard table, drinks chest, private plunge pool and afternoon tea in the glorious Persian Tea Tent. The region is home to desert-adapted wildlife such as brown hyena, black-maned Kalahari lion, aardwolf and porcupine.

Located in a remote, game-rich concession set on a private island in the northern Okavango, North Island offers guests a truly intimate stay. This breathtaking wilderness area is home to an abundance of wildlife, and guests can immerse themselves in classic Okavango experiences – including mokoro (dugout canoe) as well as exciting game drives. The Okavango Delta is a bird lovers paradise, and exploring by mokoro offers guests a contrasting experience to witness this remarkable area.

With everything included except for international flights, you can relax and make the most of the beautiful setting, and create memories to last a lifetime.

Itinerary

Botswana in Luxury

7 days/6 nights ex Maun, Botswana

Days 1 – 3

Jack’s Camp

Today transfer from Maun by light aircraft to romantic Jack’s Camp, located in a private concession adjacent to the otherworldly landscapes of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. One of Africa’s most iconic and opulent camps, the evocative guest tents and central mess tent pay homage to its past, adorned in vintage 1940’s style campaign furniture.

The beautiful salt pans seem to extend endlessly for miles, and the dramatic landscape is home to fascinating desert species including brown hyena, porcupine and aardwolf.

There are two distinct seasons – dry and green – so some activities here are only available at certain times. During the green season (Dec-April) rains transform the landscape into beautiful grassland. Meanwhile the dry season (May-mid-November) provides a stark comparison of dry landscapes dotted with palm trees and small islands amid a sea of desert. Activities at Jack’s Camp include game drives, walking with the Bushmen, quad biking (seasonal) and a visit to see the semi-habituated meerkats. D (Day 1) B L D (Days 2-3)

Days 4 – 6

North Island Okavango

After one last morning activity, it’s time to transfer once more by light aircraft to the floodplains and waterways of the Okavango Delta. Stay at the beautiful and intimate North Island Okavango, in a spacious suite that features ensuite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, bathtub and private plunge pool. With an expert guide, explore this superb wilderness area on productive game drives and through the pristine waterways by mokoro (dugout canoe). This region is home to a wide array of birdlife, including some “Okavango specials” such as the Pel’s Fishing Owl, Slaty Egret and the African Skimmer.

For those that wish for an arial view, helicopter excursions are available (additional cost), as well as community and conservation experience to a nearby village (additional cost). B L D
